District sizes will vary significantly, spanning from 2,000 to well over 100,000 students.

The Story of Uvalde, School Safety and Restoration
The World watched in shock the events of March 24, 2022, as 21 (22) 4th grade students and teachers were slaughtered in their Robb Elementary School classrooms. The 77 chaotic minutes that followed the first volley of shots led to worldwide scrutiny, anger and criticism. Within 60-90 days, the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Executive Directors, CFO, and Director of HR and Police Chief were terminated, resigned or retired. Mr. Patterson will walk you through the aftermath of one of the worst mass murders in United States History, from the law enforcement response, reunification, impossible Board meetings, hundreds of millions of dollars of litigation, media, mental health, anger and hopefully at some point- restoration.

This is my third event and they keep getting better. The conference is great about focusing on timely issues that all districts are facing and provides the ability to not only hear from industry experts, but also from colleagues around the country. Every time I attend it challenges my thinking and I leave refreshed with a slew of new ideas to help improve my district.
RTM is very unique in design. They focus on networking and opportunities to learn about the different resources available to education. I always leave these events with one or more new contacts and several ideas toward improving my district. They are so impactful that I always try to bring at least one additional district person with me so that it has double the impact!
