About The Program

The National Superintendents Forum stands as an esteemed assembly, bringing together Superintendents from K-12 Public School Districts nationwide. A diverse array of districts, hailing from over 20 states and encompassing both rural and urban landscapes, will converge, each grappling with its distinct set of challenges. District sizes will vary significantly, spanning from 2,000 to over 100,000 students.

This years’ program theme is; Amidst Countless Challenges and Burnt-Out Teams, Superintendents can be the Catalyst for Change & Positive Outcomes.

Within the program, participants can anticipate a rich tapestry of knowledge with over 20 Superintendent-led content sessions. These sessions are thoughtfully crafted to address timely and pertinent issues prevalent in the ever-evolving landscape of the K-12 industry, with a keen focus on the unique challenges faced by Superintendents.

Topics Of Discussion

Public education faces a highly politicized and negative narrative. Many districts have divided communities, boards, and leadership teams. How do we unify everyone to work together for the best outcomes for our kids?

In an era of staff shortages, greater demands on teachers and increasing pressure on leaders, the ability to recruit internally has become critical to the success and long-term health of a school district. This session will emphasize strategies and mindsets that can help to build a culture that blends great expectations with a greater level of support. The presenter will share what has worked in his district and invite attendees to engage in honest and productive collaborative conversations that will help us empower one another to be stronger leaders for the people who depend on us.

This presentation focuses on the vital role community stakeholders, including parents and non-parents, play in the success of our school districts. We will explore strategies to foster meaningful engagement, ensuring all voices are heard and valued. By creating partnerships and open communication channels, we can collaboratively address challenges, celebrate achievements, and build a supportive environment for our students.

Bellville ISD engaged in a multi-year, collaborative process to develop their Portrait of a Learner and create systems designed to ensure that the development of the identified traits is equally as important as academic performance. Participants will engage in conversations to discuss the collaborative process of development and a scaffolded approach to trait development and will learn how the district has created a local growth and appraisal process, local accountability system, and comprehensive learner portfolio to support a collective focus and commitment to their vision for all learners.

The Crete-Monee School District 201U, in partnership with the Donovan Group, has developed a comprehensive safety plan. It includes manuals, protocols, templates, and news releases to ensure the security of the entire school community. The plan focuses on clear communication, effective preparation, decisive response, and post-crisis support. This workshop offers practical strategies and free sample templates for superintendents to enhance their response protocols.

AI is here and propelling forward with no signs of slowing down. Discuss the ways in which K-12 can adapt to this new technology and leverage it to improve districtwide operations and outcomes.
